Park Amenities

Quail Hollow Park is devoted to recreation and appreciation of Ohio’s cultural and natural history. The former Stewart family home is primarily used for business meetings, educational, nature-oriented and community activities. Tours are offered on Sunday afternoons, June through October and at other times by appointment. A Visitor Center is located within the home. The Nature Center, located in the Carriage House, is open Thursday 4-8 pm, Friday & Saturday 10 am – 4 pm, Sunday 1-4 pm from May 11, 2017 to October 31, 2017. Special events are held at Quail Hollow year-round, including Christmas at the Hollow in December and the Craft and Herb Fair in May. Interpretive programs may be arranged upon request for classes or groups.

Herb Garden

The formal Herb Garden is one of the most popular attractions at the park where visitors can take leisurely stroll and enjoy a wide variety of ornamental, medicinal, and culinary herbs.

Rock Garden

The Stewarts commissioned Warren H. Manning, prominent Boston Landscape Architect, in 1928 to create a Rock Garden on the Manor House grounds. The Quail Hollow Volunteer Association is in the process of uncovering and restoring this garden.

The Gazebo sits in a shaded setting near the Herb Garden. It is a popular site for weddings and can be rented for special events.

Fishing is recommended at the 2-acre Shady Lane Pond. A valid Ohio fishing license is required.

Picnicking and Play

Four picnic areas are located in the center of the park with tables, grills, and latrines close by. All picnic areas are available to the public year-round during park hours. A playground, volleyball court, and basketball hoop are located at Shady Lane picnic area.

More To Do

At the park’s visitor center, a certified Backyard Habitat site attracts a variety of wildlife. One-way glass allows visitors an up-close look at animals. A short walk from the visitor center is the 9,000-square-foot herb garden with more than 300 culinary, medicinal and scented herb plants. A playground and basketball court are located at Shady Lane picnic area.
